The Best Off-Leash Dog Parks in the Lower North Shore

1. Artarmon Reserve

Artarmon Reserve has been a Mad Dogs favourite for more than a decade! A large oval - mostly fenced, a car park and toilet, as well as BBQ's just outside the oval. Once you have a tired dog from all the playing you can take them for a stroll along the Wickham Walk - however that part is strictly on leash!

2. Primrose Park, Cammeray

Large Flat area, safe for the dogs. There is a bush walk and waterfall at the back, but the dogs need to be on leash in this area. Also access to small harbour beach, but again you have to walk the dogs 100 metres from oval on leash to get there. This is a Mad Dogs & Englishmen favourite, we use this park a lot because the dogs can have a really good run off leash in a safe environment away from the roads. You can park on Denos Lane rather than the car park at the top!

3. Tunks Park, Cammeray

One of our favourites! We have used Tunks Park every day for years! Large leash free park with water to swim at the far end under the bridge. You can park right at the edge of the park so the dogs can just jump out and off you go! Perfect for a hot day, as you can give them a swim and let them dry off on the walk back to the car across the playing fields!

4. Waverton Park, Waverton

Park on Larkin Street at the top, or John Street at the bottom. Great Park, has everything!usually pretty quiet. You can throw a ball in the oval and let them cool off (access to small harbour beach via steps). Or you can walk along the top along the top past the old BP site, lots of little side tracks and places for the dogs to sniff and explore without getting lost. You can also walk up to the top for a great view of Sydney Harbour.

5. Reid Park, Mosman

Another favourite that we have been using daily since we started in 2006! Park your car on Harnett Avenue which is adjacent to the park. A popular spot amongst the locals, so plenty of dogs to entertain your canine companion! Lot's of green open space makes this a pleasant walk any time of day.

6. Sirius Cove Beach

A favourite of Mad Dogs & Englishmen from right back to when we started waking dogs in 2006! Plenty of space for the dogs to run on the beach and cool down in the water, before playing on the grass to dry off. there is also a public toilet and plenty of parking on Curlew Camp Road.

7. Rosherville Reserve, Mosman

Situated just off of Spit Road, Rosherville Reserve has plenty of grass for the dogs to run and play. Toilets, parking and a childrens play area and bbq next to it if you're having a family day out! The dog's are not allowed off leash on Chinnamans Beach - that is strictly on leash only.

8. Rawson Oval, Mosman

Check the sign posts at this park as dogs are not on the oval itself - there is a large off leash area next to it. Lots of space and benches if you need a seat. Water for both you and your pooch.
